The Environmental Sleep Aspects

Sometimes our mind might be doing just fine, but due to various annoying external factors we just can’t sleep. Noise, light, being too hot or too cold, disruptive bedmate, children or pets, uncomfortable mattress, sheets, pillow or sleepwear, or even sleeping in a new or unfamiliar environment… What are your experiences on this, and what would you recommend to other non-sleepers? Which earplugs, eye masks, window blinds, etc? Can we rescue ourselves somehow? Help!
